More than half of Usha Martin Academy’s 2012
graduates are already placed in prime posts
The Usha Martin Academy (UMA) has already seen more than 50 per
cent of its 2012 graduating class placed in prime positions. The placement
scenario as of 25th June, 2012 looks extremely promising.
Of all the on-campus recruiters, Bajaj Capital hired the largest number of
UMA graduates, taking on seven as management trainees.
Eureka Forbes, Unicon Real Estate, Godrej and Boyce Appliances and
IIFL each hired four graduates, in roles ranging from business development
manager/team leader to branch sales executive to business development
executive to territory executive.
Naukri.com hired two as senior sales executives and Prestige TTK hired one
as a management trainee.
Salaries went to Rs 2.75 lakhs a year with the average being Rs 1.90 lakhs
per annum.
UMA believes the business leaders of tomorrow are created, not born and
equips its students with cutting-edge skills, enabling them to make an
immediate impact in the corporate world.
Mr. Bikramjit Banerjee, Placement Head for UMA, says, “When
we define placement for UMA, it is not just about placing students in
companies. We have other priorities. We are creating the next generation of
leaders and not merely working professionals.”
The UMA placement office is highly aware of what is required to succeed
in the corporate world. With the business sector in a constant state of flux, it
is more important than ever for students to be specifically trained to adapt
to the changing landscape with a skill set that makes them both valuable and
flexible.
Graduates, MBAs and MCAs are trained in all facets of business so their
contributions are almost instantaneous. The curriculum at UMA is designed
by corporate experts who know what it takes to become the leaders of
the future. Balancing theoretical lessons with practical training, students
work with industry professionals who serve as mentors and provide an
introduction into the business sector.
Upon completion of a degree programme, UMA offers placement services to
students, easing their transition from student to professional. This placement
involves giving students a host of career opportunities.
Focussing on all types of industries, including small and medium
enterprises, UMA places students in businesses where there is a strong
demand for managerial talent.
Working with many companies, UMA takes pride in placing students with
organisations where their skills will be most appreciated and utilised.
Placement Co-ordinator Ms. Shayori Banerjee says, “The economic scenario
is challenging, but we are trying to do everything to give our students a big
start to their career.”
UMA knows what it takes to make it in the business sector. With the
landscape changing rapidly, there is a need for managers who can thrive
in such an environment and UMA is the place where these managers are
created.
